Yes I know I have fallen behind on this again. I was busy helping my mom get ready for my grandparents visit. I steam cleaned all her carpet and then I stripped all the wallpaper off the bathroom and Brent and I painted the bathroom with primer. Mostly I painted and Brent just did the trim around the door and by the ceiling. Then my grandparents came and we have been spending time with them.

On this past Monday I had to have an endometrial biopsy done to check and see if I have cervical or ovarian cancer - hopefully not - I won't get my results back until Oct. 13th. That was no fun at all and I had to go by myself since Brent had a meeting and was not able to get off work. I didn't want to reschedule as I just wanted to get it over with. My mom stayed home with Korben. Anyway it hurt - alot - so when I got home I put Korben down for his nap and tried to rest and take a nap myself but instead Korben decided he was going to scream the entire time. I finally gave him some Tylenol since he was chewing really bad on his fingers and his crib rails and then 2 hrs later he fell asleep. By then it was so late I decided not to nap as I would be up all night. Brent has been working overtime and so we are trying to go to bed earlier since he works an hour before and an hour after. They are allowing OT for about a month possibly two. Brent wants to take advantage of it while he can, esp. with the Disney trip and X-Mas coming up.

Poor Korben has been trapped in the living room again, like he was when he was real little. He hates it and is constantly sneaking out of the gate. But we can't let him run around since his Grandpa's are working on the bathrooms and have tools and all kinds of stuff everywhere up and down the hallway and in the kitchen.
When I was at my appointment on Monday my Grandma watched Korben for a bit while my mom was doing something and my Grandma was telling me all the stuff he was getting into. I know he is bored in that little area plus I know he was testing my Grandma, he knows he can't get away with that stuff with us. Although every since then he has been testing us like crazy. Anyway apart from sneaking out of the gate, he pulled a bunch of DVD's off the shelves, climbed on the couch and was trying to knock the lamp over, climbed on the love seat and was pulling on the blinds. My Grandma said that he is just like how my Uncle Eddie was when he was a kid - I thought it just came from Brent's side of the family because I had never seen a kid like him and from what I keep hearing Brent was just like this too. Anyway I have heard horror stories about my Uncle Eddie growing up, such as eating the seats of their car, when on vacation he got into their suitcases and started throwing their stuff out the window while driving! Geeeesh I hope this is not what I am in store for! My Grandma told me to be prepared to bolt the furniture to the walls, she said she knows this from experience - I didn't ask cause I am not sure I want to know!

Korb has been saying more words and seems to be talking more often. On my last post I had made a list of words and didn't include 'shoe' as that was one he stopped saying and the very next day he started saying it again. He also has been saying 'mama' more often now, he really has a hard time with the "m's" and "b's" though. Speaking of that he is in his crib right now saying "Ma" over and over again. He now says phone (he pronouces it 'own'), hello, and he has been trying to say grandma and grandpa he sounds funny when he says it and he can't tell what he is saying but every time he sees grandma or grandpa he says it the same way every time and points to them. Oh, he also says banana ('nana') seems like there were more words but I can't think of them right now. He has gotten into the blowing kisses again. When I was going to get a drink the other day he was sitting on Brent's lap and he blew kisses to me as I was walking away, so cute!
Well I ended up finding a pair of Stride Rite sandals in his size on eBay for $2.00. Turns out he couldn't walk very well in the Gap sandals. Since it is still really warm here I went ahead and got them. His tennis shoes are really a pain to put on, esp. for just a quick trip around the block or to the store. Brent kept trying to let him go barefoot so I went ahead and got the sandals. They already came in the mail and Korben can run again with shoes on.

Korben has been doing something that has been driving me crazy. He learned how to take off his diaper through his clothing!!! Even with a one piece outfit on. He plays with the velcro through his clothes until it comes undone and his diaper ends up around his ankles! Drives me nuts!

Korben's Halloween costume came in the mail today, he is going to be a monkey!!!! Because he is a little monkey, always climbing up on everything. Later tonight after Brent gets home I am going to try the outfit on him and take some pics. I can't wait to see him in it, he is going to look adorable! We will probably spend this Halloween like we did last year and walk around the block with Korb's cousins. Only last year he slept the whole time and there were alot of us walking the kids around the block since everybody was in town for Skylar's funeral. We all had just gotten back from the viewing right before going trick or treating. Halloween is my favorite holiday but it has sorta been tainted by that. I am still trying to forget about that part of it and be happy and excited for Korben's sake but it is hard. Really I am still in denial about the whole thing.
I have some new pics but not alot, the last ones I took were of Kaylan's birthday party. We haven't done anything really fun since then. This coming Friday my parents are taking my grandparents to a very nice fancy restaurant and I don't feel comfortable taking Korben to a place like that. So that same night the zoo is having a family fun night for people with a zoo membership (which we have.) So we are thinking of going to that. All the rides at the zoo will be free and they are having meals for $2.50 per person. They have a little kids train and a merry go round, I think they have some other rides but those are the only ones I can think of right now that Korb will be able to ride. I *think* he might be okay on the train, I am not sure though, I don't think adults can go on it and I am not sure if he will sit there by himself, we'll see though.
Oh yes, and about the pictures, my family has a tradition with mini golf, we take a picture of everybody who gets a hole in one by the whole they made it in. As you can see Brent got 2 hole and ones and the only other person to get a hole in one was Zylee!!! It was an easy hole where all you had to do is hit your ball into the water and if you were lucky it went across a bridge straight into the hole. It worked for her but not the rest of us!
Anyway I will post the monkey pics after I take them. I still haven't uploaded all the videos to YouTube. I will get around to that one of these days. We will have more free time next week as my parents and grandparents are going to Vegas for the week.

Ok so I am behind on posting on here. Last week I was exhausted from our trip and was still trying to adjust back to the time change, so I took a nap every time Korben did. This week Korben has decided to give up naps. It is making me nuts, it is my only quiet time of the day. He does stay in his crib during that time but he is in there "talking" and playing loudly or he is crying for me to get him out so it is not exactly quiet time for me. I really hope he is not one of those kids who stops taking naps before age 3.

Lets see here, a few days after we got back from Seattle Korben learned how to open the fridge. Good thing I could hear when he opened it. Only one time did he grab something out of it and of course it was a glass bottle of soy sauce so I was chasing him around trying to get that away from him. Luckily we still had some drawer straps left over from childproofing and on the package they said they could be used for refrigerators too, I put them on there and they work great. They work so good that it now takes us adults both hands to open the fridge! Kinda a pain but better than Korben getting into trouble in there.

Every since we got back from Seattle Korb has been trying to open all the doors in the house. Grandma & Grandpa S. had those door knobs that you just push down so Korb was able to open all their doors. So once we got home he kept testing and testing all the doors up and down the hallway and he did manage to get the coat closet opened. I told him no and he seemed content with the fact that he opened it and has not tried to open doors since except for the front door which he always tries because he wants to play outside all day everyday. He knows I lock the top lock on that one so he doesn't even try to use the door knob, instead he tries to unlock the door and he almost has it too. When he grows another inch he will be able to get out of the front door as my mom's bottom lock is one that when it is locked can still be opened from the inside. So I am going to have to go and buy some doorknob covers pretty soon for that.

Korben got a new tooth since we have been home so that makes tooth # 13. I think another will pop up this week since he has been chewing on his fingers like crazy. I just looked up how many baby teeth need to come through and it is 20 - only 7 more to go!!!!! I hope they keep coming quick so we can get this over with!

This past Saturday we went to Septemberfest at the Governor's mansion and the Oklahoma History Center. They offer free admission to both plus have all kinds of free things to do. Most of it is for older kids but me and Korben got to pet a skunk and Korben went on his first horse ride. Video of that will be up on YouTube in the next few days.

We also found out for sure that we will be going to Disney World in December!!!!!! YAY!!! A big giant thank you to Grandma & Grandpa S. for all that! We will be going from Dec. 14 - 20th. I think Korben is really going to have fun this time, although he had fun last time this year will be different. I am already excited about next year too, we are going in October with my family and Halloween is my favorite time of year and so I liked going to Disney World better in Oct. than in Dec. and with Korben it is going to be super fun. I am going to have all three of us dress up in costumes for the Halloween party. This year I am going to take Korben to have his first hair cut in the Magic Kingdom, even though I really don't want to cut it. I don't know why I don't want to have it cut, it is getting shaggy on the sides but it makes me sad for some reason.

Sunday we spent the day painting my mom's ceilings, well mom and I spent the day doing it and Brent painted for a couple hours during Korben's nap and then took care of him. Brent took him on a walk around the block and walked him to the park across the street to keep him out of our way. Mom paid us to paint for her so we will be putting that money away for the 2 and half days of vacation time Brent lacks for the Disney trip.

Monday was mine & Brent's 7th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long. Korben and I went running errands with my mom all day long, we got home around 3 and I put Korben right down for a nap. He was so tired in Wal-Mart (our last stop) he kept laying his head on me or mom, poor tired boy. He did take a nap that day but he didn't fall asleep until around 4:15. He was sleeping when Brent and I left to go out to dinner for our anniversary. We got home about 8:00 and my mom was putting him into the bath, she said he slept until 7:30! Mom bathed him and when he got out he was so excited to see Daddy as he hadn't seen him all day long. Korben ended up staying up until 10 pm that night.

Tues. and Wed. no naps for Korb. Last night he did fall asleep on Brent while drinking his before bedtime milk but slept for less than 15 mins and then he stayed up until 12:30 AM!! He was so funny too because I was sitting in bed watching a show and Brent was on the computer so Korben could see me but not Brent. He kept giving me his little pouty face because he knows I feel sorry for him and will eventually get him out and it worked....again. So I let him down and let him go run out to say goodnight (again) to Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle TJ, and Zylee so he said goodnight and Brent and I tucked him back in. Well then I saw Korben unzipping his pj's so I told him not to do that and to put his jammies back on. He zipped them back up and then he closed his eyes - he does this little squinty eye close and he thinks you can't see him when he does that - and then started to unzip his pj's again. He looked so funny in his tented crib with his squinty eyes trying to take off his pj's that I just started laughing. Daddy went and fixed his jammies where he couldn't get the zipper down. He was wearing one of his new pair that Grandma & Grandpa S. got him.

Which reminds me I got another new diaper bag! Grandma & Grandpa S. got it for us along with all kinds of other stuff for Korb and shirts and nightshirts for Brent & I. We thank you so much!!! This diaper bag is really cool though because it has Mickey Mouse and our last name embroidered on it!!!!! Not only that but it is the exact brand of diaper bag that I just bought only it is longer and shorter - like my old one was - so I actually like it better than the one I bought and it hooks on to the stroller too! I haven't switched all my stuff over to it yet but I plan on doing that this evening. I will have to take a picture of it because it is really cool.

Korben did end up falling asleep while I was typing this! Yay! However he didn't fall asleep until 4:20 right before I was going to take him out of his bed. So now it is a little after 5 and he is passed out. I think I might wake him up soon to try to get him back on track with his bed and nap times. I don't know how they got so out of whack as he did great our first week back from Seattle.

Pictures are of Korben with my sunglasses, after the bath and at Septemberfest.

Korben is such a little Houdini! Today he was eating his breakfast in his highchair and while I was chopping up his banana he was trying to get out of his chair. I had his chair sitting all the way up and the tray locked in place up against his belly so I didn't think he could get out of it. I found out last Friday that he can get out of the highchair when it is laying back - that was on the day of the poop incident. Anyway after giving him his banana I went to check to make sure Brent's pay got deposited into our bank account today. I was gone for less than 5 mins, as I was walking back to the kitchen I kept hearing this little clang noise. Korben was standing in his highchair grabbing all of mom's miniatures (that are in a shadow box thing on the wall above his chair) and placing them all on his tray of his chair. He is always trying to grab at them when I set him in his chair I guess today he decided he was going to get to them & he did! Little booger! So now I will have to belt him into the highchair each time.

Well I hear Korben waking up from his nap so that is all today. There is a new video on YouTube today.
